milling a felled oak
A 200 year old Oak, rescued from a farm in Hertfordshire
milled timber
Indisciminately cut down by the electricity board, this 200 year old oak tree was felled to make way for a single electric cable.
Delivered to Timberwright Ltd in Tring, the trunks were milled into slabs and are now in storage - air drying and getting ready for use over the next couple of years.
Grown in an country estate, the tree had a broad open shape. The braches have therefore produced wood with a lot of character. Paul is hoping that the slabs will be ready to use to make tables and benches after a couple of years of slowly air drying in the woods.
