Made from an old slab of brown oak found in Downland Woods in East Sussex, this garden stool makes use of the natural character of an old off-cut that would otherwise have been discarded.
Cherry wood bow ties reinforce the major shakes that nearly split the slab in two. Resin fill cleans the gaps and enhances the knotty grain.
The natural cracks, grain and timber wedges become part of the design, celebrating the character of the wood rather than hiding it.
